I was born into a family of orange farmers in Warud, a town deeply rooted in citrus heritage. Growing up, I spent my days walking through our orchards, watching each fruit grow with care, and listening to the hopes and hardships of the farming community.
The turning point came when my father sold our orchard’s produce through a local middleman — only to be cheated by a buyer who never paid the final ₹1.5 lakh. For a middle-class farmer, that amount was life-changing. Sadly, our story wasn’t unique. I heard many similar experiences from other farmers who were exploited by middlemen and unfair market practices.
Later, during an import-export training in Pune, I discovered that oranges were being sold in cities at prices 3 to 4 times higher than what farmers received — and shockingly, many weren’t even true Nagpur oranges. That’s when I knew I had to act.
With Warud Orange, I set out to bridge this broken system — delivering authentic Nagpur oranges from Warud and Morshi directly to consumers at fair prices, while ensuring that farmers are paid what they truly deserve. This isn’t just a brand — it’s a mission to protect our legacy, empower our growers, and restore trust in the fruit we’re proud to call our own.
